PhantomPaste is designed with privacy at its core. Your data is your data, and it stays that way.
What We Collect
- No personal data. Your text and sensitive information never leave your browser.
- All text processing happens entirely in your browser.
- No user accounts required.
- Privacy-focused analytics (see below) - no cookies, no personal data tracking.
Session Cookies
We use session cookies (browser storage) only to maintain your application state while you're using the tool. This includes:
- Your input text and detected patterns (stored locally)
- Your configuration preferences (stored locally)
- Terminal logs (stored locally)
All session data is cleared when you close your browser or navigate away from the site.
Data Storage
Zero. We don't have servers storing your data because we don't receive your data in the first place. Everything runs client-side in your browser.
Third-Party Services
We use Umami Analytics, a privacy-focused, open-source analytics solution that helps us understand how our service is used.
Why Umami is privacy-friendly:
- No cookies: Umami does not use cookies or localStorage for tracking.
- No personal data: We collect only anonymous aggregate statistics like page views and referrers.
- GDPR compliant: No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected.
- No cross-site tracking: Your activity is never tracked across different websites.
- Open source: Umami's code is publicly available and auditable.
Umami only runs in production and helps us improve the service without compromising your privacy.
